Core-to-Shell Mechanical Interlocking
The primary failure point in substandard weight plates occurs at the junction between the center metal insert and the surrounding polymer shell. Under repeated impact or harsh loading onto heavy-duty plate-loaded machines (such as Skelcore Power and Pro Plus Leg Presses or Chest Rows), low-grade inserts loosen, rotate, or separate completely.
To eliminate this structural vulnerability, Skelcore engineers utilize a proprietary dual-stage core bonding process. Solid steel inner hubs are machined via high-precision CNC lathes, shot-blasted to create micro-texture anchor points, coated with an industrial heat-activated chemical primer, and placed into high-pressure CPU molds. The liquid polyurethane vulcanizes directly around the metal structure, creating an unbreakable mechanical and chemical lock.
